Le Monument de la Reformation.A monument built to the memory of the Reformation. It is the boundary wall of Old Geneve & new Geneva. It is an inormouse[sic] wall with stone figures on it._ John Knox, Cromwell and other outstanding characters of history.

Diary sub-note: 1864. John Leech, artist, died Went into the town to shop & for tea with Mlle Hartmann at “Grande Passage.” Bought 2 films and a drawing book.

Diary sub-note: 1883. Captain Mayne-Reid died Went to Nyon in the steamer & saw over the castle and museum. Had a letter from Nancy & a photo of Jean. Wrote a French letter to Miss Johnstone.

Nyon. A very pretty little town on the Lake of Geneva. There is a castle there that stands up high above the town and looks out over the lake. In the castle is a very interesting museum consisting of old Roman remains. The castle is very old and was built in the 13th century.

Diary sub-note: 1632. Sir Christopher Wren, architect, born Went to the muséum Ariana but it was closed & so we went to see over the B.I.T (International Labour Office). A visitor came to lunch. Had letters from Ban & Molly.

The International Labour Office. (B.I.T)Different countries have presented things to the building. England has presented a lovely blue fountain & pond with a little boy in the middle. Germany, a lovely stained glass window with the different trades of men on it. Portugal, three china panels on the wall; of trade also.

“Veronique.” An operetta written by Massager. Extremely pretty scenery and dresses. The singing was marvellous and so was the music. M. Jean Badès was in it. Chambésy. A very pretty little village in the suburbs of Geneva. Grapes grow on nearly every house there. Monnetier. A very pretty little village on the top of Salève, a mountain in France. There is a path up the mountain and it takes about 3/4 hours to climb up. It is very steep.
