Diary sub-note: 1782. Royal George sunk
S.R. 6.7, S.S. 7.54

Bathed 3 times. Mr, Mrs, Peggy & Anne Joseph came. We went up the river for a little run. Had lunch at the café in Potter Higham.

Diary entry August 29th 1936

Diary footnote, accompanying a photograph of a Kerry Blue Terrier: THE KERRY BLUE TERRIER. Though arbitrarily allocated to Co. Kerry, he is really the Blue Irish Terrier, of much the same build as the red. In his coat, he has a resemblance to the old Otterhound, and like the latter, he is a good water dog, but too large, as a Terrier, to go to ground. His colour is usually a sort of blue-black, sometimes silvery-grey, and is soft rather than wiry, with a woolly top-knot rather like the Bedlington. It is the fashion to trim this forward over his eyes, for no apparent reason save the whim of the fanciers.
